🛠️ MurderCartel — Development Update

Started by MurderCartel

Over the next 3 days, development will mainly focus on stability, multiplayer synchronization and polishing existing systems before moving the main focus back toward new content.

Since the latest updates, a lot of the new multiplayer functionality is already working well. The next step is cleaning up the remaining edge cases and making sure these systems behave consistently for everyone.

🏰 Dungeon System

The multiplayer dungeon system is now working for Guilds, Parties and Solo players. 🎉

Players can enter together and share dungeon progression, mobs, loot, timers, points and other multiplayer functionality.

There is currently one important remaining issue that will be addressed tomorrow:

If a player’s inventory is full while claiming the final dungeon chest, the reward process can become interrupted. This can cause the player to receive only part of the reward — or no remaining reward — before being removed from the dungeon.

Until this is fixed, we recommend having enough free inventory slots before claiming the final dungeon chest.

The claiming system will be changed so a full inventory can never cause the remaining reward to be lost.

⚔️ Combat & Multiplayer Synchronization

Several multiplayer combat systems will receive another synchronization and stability pass.

This includes:

* Smoother and more consistent mob movement between clients
* Improved mob state and health synchronization
* Smoother player and mob projectile synchronization
* Correct cleanup of projectiles when their source mob dies
* Improved projectile collision behavior in multiplayer
* Player health bar synchronization after leaving combat
* Correct PvP/Duel buff and debuff visuals above players
* Removal of unnecessary Party Shared XP log messages

The goal is that every player sees the same mob state, health, movement and combat result at the same time, with fewer visible corrections or movement stutters.

🧪 Combat XP, Frenzy & Tomes

Combat XP calculations will also be reviewed.

For example, if a Radiant Wolf gives 81 base XP and Combat Frenzy displays a 3× XP modifier, the XP received should exactly match what the displayed modifier means.

The complete calculation will be checked, including:

* Combat Frenzy multiplier
* Combat Tomes
* Premium XP bonuses
* Party XP modifiers
* Guild XP modifiers
* Other applicable XP bonuses

Combat Tomes currently appear to work correctly outside Combat Frenzy, but their bonus may not always be applied correctly while Combat Frenzy is active.

All XP modifiers should be independent and correctly combine with each other, while the UI and server use exactly the same calculation.

🏴 Guild Improvements

Guild systems will also receive several fixes.

Guild Contracts currently appear to have issues registering player contributions. Contract progress and contribution tracking will be investigated and corrected.

Guild Invitations will also be improved.

Right-clicking another player to invite them to your Guild should trigger a real-time Accept / Decline invitation for that player.

Guild invitations will additionally be delivered through the in-game Mail system, allowing the invited player to Accept or Decline directly from the invitation mail.

🛹 Hoverboard Persistence

There are reports of equipped Hoverboards occasionally becoming inactive after relogging.

The following will be checked together:

* Saved equipped/active state
* Restoration after character login
* Movement-speed modifier
* Hoverboard buff/icon
* Synchronization of the Hoverboard state to other players

If a Hoverboard was active when your character state was saved, it should restore consistently when appropriate.

🍀 Lucky Drop Potions

Lucky Drop Potions will be reviewed and expanded so their effect is consistently recognized by the game’s different loot and reward systems.

This includes:

* Normal mob loot
* Dungeon chests
* Dungeon rewards
* PvP rewards and applicable chests
* Other chest/reward systems
* Applicable gold drops

The same Lucky Drop percentage should be interpreted consistently wherever it is supposed to affect rewards, including applicable gold-drop calculations.

🎯 Focus for the next 3 days

The priority is not simply adding more systems.

The priority is making the systems already in MurderCartel stable, synchronized and reliable, especially when multiple players are interacting with the same mobs, dungeons, projectiles, rewards and Guild systems.

Thank you to everyone who continues to play, test and report issues. Detailed bug reports have been extremely useful for finding multiplayer edge cases that are difficult to reproduce during development.

More fixes and updates are coming over the next few days. ❤️
