Over the last few updates, our main focus has shifted toward strengthening and polishing MurderCartel’s existing systems. Rather than constantly adding new features, we want the systems already in the game to feel better, clearer, and more complete.
⚔️ Skill Bar & Projectile Upgrade
The Skill Bar has received a major upgrade, making managing and using your abilities easier and clearer.
We’ve also been working on a large visual improvement to combat. Previously, many abilities reused projectiles from the 7 original core skills. We are now giving every individual skill its own projectile and visual animation.
This means higher-level abilities should actually look and feel like their own skills instead of being variations using the same handful of effects.
💬 Improved Chat System
The in-game chat has been upgraded and now includes separate chat tabs.
This makes it much easier to follow different conversations and prevents everything from being mixed together in one feed. We’ll continue improving the chat system as the community grows.
🗺️ Minimap Improvements
The minimap has received another quality-of-life update.
Your current map name is now displayed directly alongside the minimap, making it easier to immediately see where you are, especially when travelling between different areas.
🧰 Tool Belt — In Development
We’re working on a dedicated Tool Belt for gathering tools.
Instead of having tools such as your Pickaxe, Axe, Sickle and Skinning Knife taking up normal inventory space, they’ll have their own dedicated place. The goal is to make gathering more convenient while cleaning up inventory management.
👥 In-Game Helpers / Admins
We’re also looking at expanding our small team with community Helpers/Admins.
Their purpose will mainly be to help players with questions, explain mechanics, assist people who get stuck and report problems they encounter.
There will be no requirement to constantly be online or helping people. Helpers can simply play normally and assist other players whenever they happen to have some time.
⚡ Performance & Stability
Overall game performance remains one of our biggest priorities.
We’re continuing to optimize existing systems, reduce unnecessary processing and improve stability. As MurderCartel has grown, many systems have become significantly more complex, so we’re spending more development time making sure the foundation stays solid.
🧭 Easier to Navigate & Understand
Another major focus is making MurderCartel easier to navigate without removing its depth.
Menus, interfaces, interactions and existing mechanics are being reviewed so that players can understand where things are and what they need to do without unnecessarily searching through the UI.
Our current direction is simple:
Strengthen what already exists. Improve performance. Improve clarity. Polish combat and UI. Make MurderCartel easier to navigate and more enjoyable to play.
There is still plenty more being worked on behind the scenes. ❤️
